The difference between marine lifebuoy and swimming ring
Publisher:XiYang Marine Equipment  Click:919

Marine lifebuoy refers to a kind of water-saving equipment, usually made of cork, foam plastic or other light materials with a small specific gravity, and covered with canvas, plastic, etc.

The outer color of the marine lifebuoy should be orange-red, and there should be no color difference. The surface should be free of unevenness and cracking. There should be four equally spaced positions along the circumference of the lifebuoy, and a 50mm width retroreflective tape should be attached around it. The outer diameter of the marine lifebuoy should not be greater than 800mm, the inner diameter should not be less than 400mm, and the outer periphery should be equipped with a floatable handle cable with a diameter of not less than 9.5mm and a length of not less than four times the outer diameter of the lifebuoy. This cable should be fastened at four equidistant positions around the circumference of the ring body and form four grommets of equal length. The weight of the marine lifebuoy should be greater than 2.5 ㎏. A lifebuoy equipped with a spontaneous smoke signal and a rapid throwing device attached to a self-illuminating floating lamp should weigh more than 4 ㎏.

The difference between marine lifebuoy and swimming ring:

In the market, marine lifebuoys and swimming buoys are clearly different and used. Marine lifebuoy refers to a kind of water-saving equipment, usually made of cork, foam plastic or other light materials with a small specific gravity, and covered with canvas, plastic, etc. The lifebuoy used for swimming practice can also be made of rubber, filled with air, also called rubber band.

The swimming ring is not a life buoy and must not be used as a life-saving appliance. The standards implemented by the swimming ring and the lifebuoy are different. The lifebuoy has a life-saving function and has many auxiliary functions; while the swimming ring is defined as a water toy, and only toy standards are implemented. Therefore, compared with real lifebuoys, toy swimming rings are prone to breakage and air leakage, have poor resistance to pressure, and are extremely easy to burst. The plastic surface is slippery when exposed to water and is difficult to grasp. It can only play a certain role in water leisure sports. Auxiliary or protective effect, if brought into deep water, it is dangerous.
